She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.
When I first saw this bible verse, I was puzzled. How can I laugh without fear of the future? “Clothes with strength and dignity?” What!
But now, I have a clear understanding of the joy and meaning of this beautiful verse. The Lord loves all His beautiful children and has a future for us.
The first part says, “She is clothed with strength and dignity.” And it is so so true! We are all clothed with strength and dignity but it is our duty to not leave these beautiful garments on the floor. They are a gift from God. It is like always wearing a sweater your mom gives you for Christmas, you wear it because it’s cute but also because it gives you warmth and a reminder of your mother’s presence. Use the strength of the Lord and wrap yourself with it. Wear Christ’s dignity of His death and resurrection. Just as a fashion model struts down a catwalk proud of their outfit, walk head held high in the beautiful gifts of strength and dignity.
The second part proclaims, “…she laughs without fear of the future.” In life, it is easy to get caught up in your troubles like homework, family, work, chores, and friends. We forget about the Lord and start to dread the future and stress. In Proverbs 31:30, it says she is also,” a woman who fears the Lord.” This means to replace our fear of the future with fear of the Lord.
To laugh without fear of the future, we have to trust in God and that His plans are for our good. When we cry, follow His voice. We must know His voice and be willing to tread a difficult path to reach Him sometimes.
I am not wise, loving, or strong as I could be. I want to be a good daughter, friend, (one day), mother and wife. I CAN be all these things if I follow and trust in the Lord. No matter what you face today or tomorrow, you have a future of hope and love. But remember, this verse is not just for women, we all can apply this to our lives to strengthen our relationship with God, our family, friends, and community.
I hope you walk out of this blog post with a smile on your face and reassurance of God’s plan and love for you.
