As people, we all experience burdens that can weaken our hearts and trouble our minds. Even now I feel stressed and overwhelmed with school, friends, family, and the incoming holiday. There is so much to do and so little time to do so. These burdens can gnaw away our focus and love for God and lead us astray.
GOD IS MY REFUGE
(and no stress or worries in GOD’s refuge) 😉
Matthew 11:28-30 says,
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
God calls us to find refuge in Him. In our troubles on Earth, we can find peace through prayer! While studying for midterms or dealing with friend drama, just take a break and focus on the gifts God has given you. Nothing bad can come from Christ, remember that always.
THE SUN WILL RISE
Psalms 30:5 proclaims,
“Weeping may endure for the night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
Through thick and thin, God is always with us. And where there is God, there is always hope (and yes, even with math grades – trust me hahaha). The pressure from your struggles is temporary. Even after a dark and gloomy night, the sun must eventually rise to bring light. Everything takes time, but with our prayers and trust to God, our burdens will no longer feel like hefty stones upon our back, but only wings carrying us to God’s grace.
I hope this devotional helps inspire and bring Christ closer to you. 🙂
Happy December!!! Thanks for reading my weekly post! ♥♥♥ -KATIE
