guess who’s family decided to go on a trip AGAin, yep, that’s right- the Hoangs. My family and I decided on Thursday night that we should use Labor Day weekend to go on a little vacation to Florida. So, the next day we packed our bags and filled our 12 seat car rental with more floats than actual people and snack food to last a zombie apocalypse. Trip = crazy fun & amazing memories!!!
First Day Fun 💖🐠🌅☀️🌈😜
The first day, we arrived at our beach house at 1 o’clock pm and explored the house and outside. It was right on the beach which was later found to be convenient for running back and forth to the house and our umbrella seatings. After unpacking, I took my siblings and cousins out to go swimming. Here are some pictures I got on the first day!!!
It’s a family tradition to go to Destin annually but this time it was loads more fun because of our beach house – easy access to the ocean, private area, home cooking, lots and lots of people. Totally recommend booking the Emerald Belle if you ever get the chance! 🤙🤙👏🏻
One of my favorite parts was being able to cook and eat whatever we wanted instead of going to a restaurant. There were local seafood markets and stores [ thanks, Walmart lololol ] that we grabbed some redfish, lobster, ribeye, a couple dozen bags of hot cheetos and takis, and even made pho. Phenomenal food 24/7 -thank you mom 😅
Second Day Silliness 💖🐠🌅☀️🌈😜
The 2nd day was by far one of my favorite days!! let’s just say part of it felt like a Jaws scene. Jk jk, that’s just me being dramatic. Funny story, so you know- Katie is on her flamingo float far away from the shore just relaxing then all of a sudden people start screaming and yelling, “SHARK!” and I’m like “Yeah, right” 🙄 then these college kids next to me are running back to the beach and I look behind the float and I see two 4 feet sharks in the cascading wave. Boom, I started running back to the beach faster than even Usain Bolt. 😂🙏🏻 No one got hurt and the sharks probably wouldn’t have done anything but hey you know, you can never be too careful.
my favorite part : *inserts pictures of Freddy the Flamingo 😍😍😍
“Parasailing in Paradise” 💖🐠🌅☀️🌈😜
aka the cheesiest title ever
Later onto calmer, less dramatic events was in the afternoon- parasailing in paradise. Wow, that should be a TV show name hahaha! The boat took us to Okaloosa Island and the boat ride was bumpy and let’s just say there were some upset stomachs but once I went up on the parachute, it was so peaceful, quiet, and beautiful. From there, I could see miles and miles of ocean and even giant jellyfish floating down below! It was an amazing experience I hope to do again.
After a weekend of pure bliss and an escape from reality, I made my way home. Please pray and keep everyone affected by Hurricane Harvey and Irma in your hearts. Thank you!
There’s nothing better than spending time with your family, the destination just makes it even greater. 😉 Thank for reading my little travel journal and I hope yall come back soon for more! – KATIE ♥♥♥
