1 TIMOTHY 4:12

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.”

what does this bible verse mean?

i believe this verse calls all young teens out there to live in its meaning, we are the new generation.  we are on this earth to grow and learn and to even teach. don’t let someone older put you down because of your age, prove you can do GOOD and GREAT things!!!

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young..” : your youth doesn’t have to be a disadvantage. your mentality and wisdom can be mature beyond years and used for greatness!

“…set an example for the believers…”: in order to counter the negativity and lack of belief, be a leader. people are likely to take you seriously if you work in God’s grace, doing things you should be doing (even though it’s difficult).

“..in speech…” : build others up, not tear them down in your words. try to speak in positive perspectives and refrain from negativity.

“…in conduct…” : we are created by God with GOOD intentions, live up to that good!!! try to avoid hypocrisy in your life. treat others how you want to be treated!

“…in love…” : do you love others regardless of their differences? remember that we were made out of love, so live and EMBRACE LIFE through love!

“…in faith…” : trust and put your faith in God that things will turn out okay. believing that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him (Heb. 11:6)!

“…in purity…” : the pure in heart shall see God! especially being young, our judgment and thoughts can be clouded by numerous things! cleanse your mind so that only the good clear things are around so your leadership and love can shine through.

i have trouble truly following this verse but a little reflection like this helps detox the bad and help me think about how to be a better person. ♥♥♥♥

hope this makes your day a little brighter and your a life easier!! -KATIE
